Welcome to the National Association of Forensic Video.

The National Association of Forensic Video is a community organization* serving the interests of professional videographers and investigators involved in the field of Forensic Video -- encompassing: Video Depositions; Law Office and Courtroom Video; Crime Scene & Incident Documentation; Government, Law Enforcement, Private Security, and Licensed Private Investigation; Insurance Investigation; Surveillance; Audio Enhancement; Video Enhancement; Visual Anthropology; and other non-theatrical applications of video and audio recording.

The National Association of Forensic Video serves as a source for networking, information gathering, education & training, professional certification, peer recognition, and discount on-line purchasing of equipment and software.

*NOTE: Due to a lack of membership $$$, we had to officially dissolve the corporation (National Association of Forensic Video, Inc.) after our first year. However, the Association still exists in name and mission; the administrative aspects are handled "pro bono" by Fred Ginsburg's real company, Equipment Emporium Inc. with support from sustainers like K-Tek and Sign Video. We invite your participation, editorial contributions, and general support in our endeavor.

Clicking on the various file tabs along the left side of this page will allow you to explore the activities and offerings of the National Association of Forensic Video.

Please feel free to drop us an email if you have any questions about our organization.

[Under Construction]This site is currently under construction, so bear with us for a little while. Check back with us often, as we are adding stuff every few days.

Our Mission

The National Association of Forensic Video is dedicated to promote, educate, share and constantly develop the art of forensic video, now, and into the future.

The goal of the Association is to provide a community organization that will serve the needs of professionals involved in the field of Forensic Video -- encompassing: Video Depositions; Law Office and Courtroom Video; Crime Scene & Incident Documentation; Government, Law Enforcement, Private Security, and Licensed Private Investigation; Insurance Investigation; Surveillance; Audio Enhancement; Video Enhancement; Visual Anthropology; and other non-theatrical applications of video and audio recording.

The Association shall strive to establish working guidelines and recommended practices; to offer materials, educational seminars, technical training, and Professional Certification; to promote networking and intercommunications; to provide a venue for journal publication, screening, and peer review; and to identify its professional members to the community by means of plastic photo ID cards, wall certificates & plaques, and other highly visible forms of recognition and distinction.

Only Active Members who have passed the criteria and deemed “Certified” by the Membership Committee may append the initials “C.F.V.” (certified forensic videographer) after their name and use the term “Certified Forensic Videographer” on their ID, certificates, and other stationery.
